Automation: watch a folder (optional)

Pick an input / output folder and click "Start watching": from then on, whether it's you, a script, Automator, or any other tool dropping images into the input folder, this page will automatically compress them with the settings above and write the results to the output folder — originals get moved into a "processed" subfolder inside the input folder. The whole thing runs on this browser tab's own compression engine, with no network requests at all — but the tab needs to stay open.

Why use tinysqueeze to compress images?

Completely free

No paid tier, no feature restrictions, and no account required.

100% local — images are never uploaded

Compression runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly. Your images never leave your device, which makes it a good fit for private photos, ID scans, or work files.

No file-size limit

Some online compressors cap free-tier uploads at 5MB per file (TinyPNG's free tier, for example). There's no such limit here — it's bounded only by your own computer's performance.

No batch-count limit

Some tools cap free-tier batches at 20 images. Here you can drop in hundreds or thousands at once, or drag in a whole folder to process in bulk.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. All compression happens locally in your browser via WebAssembly — images are never uploaded and never leave your device.

Is there a file size or batch count limit?

There's no fixed limit. Since everything runs locally, file size and how many images you can process at once are only limited by your own computer's performance and memory — unlike some online tools whose free tier caps files at 5MB and batches at 20 images.

What image formats are supported?

JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC/HEIF (iPhone photos), TIFF, GIF, BMP, and RAW formats from most cameras (ARW/CR2/CR3/NEF/DNG, etc.).

Is this tool free?

Yes, completely free, with no paid tier or feature restrictions.
